Six foreign companies ready to repair Chisinau streets

Six companies of the 23 that purchased participation documents submitted bids in the tender contest held within the EBRD program to repair streets in downtown Chisinau. The bids vary between €10 and €16.5 million, while the bidders are from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, and Spain, IPN reports.

After the technical bids are assessed, there will be compared the offered prices. The winner of the tender contest will be announced in a month. If a contract is signed with the winner, the works to repair the streets C. Negruzzi, V. Alecsandri and Stefan cel Mare si Sfant will start in June.

The project financed by the EBRD envisions the rehabilitation of streets and sidewalks, creation of parking lots and modernization of street lighting. At the second stage, there will be repaired the streets 31 august 1989, Tighina and Alexandru cel Bun.

The total value of the project is about €32 million. The EBRD and EIB will provide financing of €22 million.
