People of culture support Moldova’s European course

Personalities from the field of culture said they support the European course of Moldova because they want to live as they live in Europa. In a meeting with Iurie Leanca, the Premier assured that the Government will continue to support them and expressed his conviction that modern instruments will be found to change the status of the people of culture and to cope with the professional and managerial challenges faced in the field, IPN reports.

“We, the people of culture, support the European course and pray to God to help us reach the European living standards,” said Emeritus Artist Mihai Munteanu.

The people of culture proposed amending the Sponsorship Law. For the purpose, the Ministry of Culture will analyze the experience of other states so that the law encourages the businesspeople to financially support culture.

Minister of Culture Monica Babuc underlined the importance of implementing the culture development strategy until 2020. “We hope that until then we will have a modernized field of culture,” she stated.

The meeting was attended by about 30 personalities from the field of culture, including writers, filmmakers theater actors, librarians, and teachers of arts education institutions, the Government said in communiqué. click
