Moldova increases pensions by 6.45%

Government of Moldova will increase pensions by 6.45% as of April 1, 2014. Therefore, the retirement pension will be raised by 67 lei (3.56 Euro) and will amount 1.117 lei (60 Euro). People with disabilities will get 53 lei (2.82 Euro) more, summing up to 880 lei (47 Euro).

The loss-of-breadwinner pensions will increase by 35 lei (1.86 Euro). The highest increase will have the participants at the relief works at Chernobyl catastrophe. They will get 143 lei (7.61 Euro) more, having up to 2.363 lei (126 Euro) the most.

The Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Valentina Buliga said the small increase in pensions is guided by the annual rise of consumer prices.

The last time when the government has increased the pensions was in April 2013.
