20 Chisinau children without parental care to receive aid ahead of school year

Twenty children without parental care will each receive 4,000 lei in financial aid from the Chisinau municipal authorities to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Today the children were invited to visit the City Hall. Lilian Carp, the head of the Mayor's Office, welcomed the children and wished them to be thirsty for school and knowledge. “I wish them great success that may last until they graduate. And I hope they enter a good university afterwards and have a successful profession. It's certainly not a very considerable amount of money, but hopefully it will help them be better prepared for school ”, said Lilian Carp.

“The children are receiving this aid to help them with the school costs. In the previous years it was 2,000-3,000 lei, but in the last two years we have increased it to 4,000 lei. We are constantly monitoring the children in this social group and, when necessary, we turn to the Municipal Fund for assistance”, municipal child protection chief Svetlana Chifa has told IPN .

The money will be transferred to the accounts of the children's guardians or parental assistants.

The Municipal Child Protection Division monitors 1,346 children without parental care: 692 children are placed under guardianship and 654 others are place in other forms of care.
