Chisinau Primaria continues to prohibit marshroutka's activity

Chisinau primaria [local executive authority] has banned the activity of 104, 127 and 188 marshroutkas’ routes [city route minibuses] and has changed the routes for the rest marshroutkas.

Three routes were cancelled due to duplication with trolleybuses and buses.

Drivers, who as a result of changes were left without work, will be employed by the company on the same position.

In addition, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 120, 123, 132, 134, 162, 165, 166, 171, 172, 174, 175, 186, 189, 191, 192 routes were changed to their way not to coincide with the routes of public transportation.

The primaria noted that the changes will come into force on September 6, but after that, if necessary, some routes will be amended.

Infotag’s dossier: In July, the Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has decided to prohibit the activities of seven marshroutkas and to change the routes for others. At the operational meetings in primaria and at the meeting with drivers he noted that the changes and the cancellation of marshroutkas will continue, so that they will not duplicate the routes of buses and trolleybuses. The initial cause for the changes was the failure of drivers to fill the requirements established by the primaria, in particular, not to overcrowd the vehicle and to provide tickets for the passengers.
