Chisinau to review excises on goods imported by Transnistrian companies

The import duties imposed on Transnistrian economic entities will be reviewed, Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov said after the February 19 meeting of the joint working group on economy. Parliament will be requested to modify the given provisions of the tax legislation, IPN reports.

The economic experts discussed the access of the farmers from Dubasari district to the farmland situated beyond the Tiraspol-Camenca road. Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac, head of the working group on behalf of Chisinau, said the provisions of the mechanism for temporarily registering private individuals and legal entries that cultivate this land should be maintained. It was agreed that a meeting of experts in the field will be convened to identity a solution so that the farmers can cultivate the land in the new agricultural season.

The meeting of the working group was followed by a meeting of the political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Eugen Carpov and Nina Shtanski. The two officials discussed the organization of a meeting of Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk in the near future.

Eugen Carpov called on the Transnistrian side to refrain from taking unilateral actions and to discuss any problem that appears within the existing mechanisms.
