OIV chief executive offers Moldova to prezent its wines in Paris

Moldova has an opportunity to repeat its previous 2011 experience and present its wines at the OIV Headquarters in Paris, it was announced last Saturday during the meeting Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov had with the Director General of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, Jean-Marie Aurand.

Jean-Marie Aurand has arrived in Moldova to attend the 23rd international Chisinau Wines & Spirits Contest, which started on Saturday. The OIV Head is one of the jury members, and he will also participate in the specialized wine industry exhibition ExpoVin Moldova’2014 starting on February 19.

In the conversation with Minister Bumacov, Jean-Marie Aurand has mentioned that some of Moldovan wines coincide with French ones in all that regards their gustatory quality and the external appearance. According to him, this fact should encourage Moldovan winemakers to actively promote their wines at the European markets.

Jean-Marie Aurand thinks that the exhibiting of Moldovan wines at the OIV Office is extremely important.

Bumakov informed the guest about the ongoing reforms in this field and about the creation of the National Vine and Wine Office. He also noted the successful development of the Filiera Vinului project, which is being implemented with the EBRD’s financial support.
