Moldova opens talks on Competitiveness Enhancement Project II

The negotiations between Moldova and the World Bank on the Competitiveness Enhancement Project II (CEP II) will start in May, IPN reports. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that CEP II must develop actions that will contribute to the enhanced competiveness of the Moldovan companies so that they prepare for taking the opportunities and coping with the challenges that will appear when the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the EU is created.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy, CEP II aims to improve the competitiveness, especially of the small and medium-sized companies, by enabling them to penetrate new markets and by launching a credit line for the private sector.

A team consisting of experts of the Ministry of Economy and the World Bank will analyze the project conception so as to agree the final form and to open talks on it.
